Boat Reflections

Boat Reflections is a five-room accommodation business on the Huon River in Tasmania’s Huon Valley. I designed and built its owned Astro website, photographed the rooms and riverfront setting, and connected its direct booking engine to Little Hotelier.

The connected system gives guests several ways to book while keeping availability in one place across the website, Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia. It also gave Boat Reflections an owned presence in Google Search, Google Business Profile and Google Travel.

Accessibility is important to this project and to the property itself. The website has been marked WCAG compliant and scores 100 for Lighthouse accessibility, while Boat Reflections’ Heritage Room is fully wheelchair accessible with disability-friendly amenities.

In matched eight-month periods before and after launch:

• Recorded stayed room nights grew 19%.
• Website direct produced 35% of recorded room nights booked.
• 79.2% of recorded booked room nights came from non-Airbnb sources.
